The Expendables
The Expendables
For eighteen years The Expendables have been bringing their perspective to the world of reggae rock. Instead of following the traditional cookie-cutter blend of reggae, punk, ska and hip-hop commonly replicated in the genre, The Expendables have perfected their own unique approach of face-melting solos, mind-bending jams and danceable grooves, blurring the lines of where one genre ends and another begins.

Hailing from shores of Santa Cruz, California, three quarters of this four piece met in the halls of Soquel High. After high school Adam Patterson (Drums/Vocals), Raul Bianchi (Lead Guitar/Keys) and Geoff Weers (Guitar/Vocals) would part ways from their high school bass player and in 1999 the band would enlist hometown native Ryan DeMars (Bass), bringing new influence to the band's stage presence and their songwriting process.

Once the new line up was solidified, the band worked tirelessly playing shows regionally as well as recording and self-releasing three albums, No Time To Worry (2000), Open Container (2001) and Gettin' Filthy (2004). This determined work ethic would capture the attention of Slightly Stoopid front men and Stoopid Records label owners Miles Doughty and Kyle McDonald. Doughty and McDonald would take a strong interest in the band, first taking them on tour supporting Slightly Stoopid's shows, then signing The Expendables to Stoopid Records, releasing the label's first non Slightly Stoopid release, 2007s self-titled The Expendables. In 2010 the partnership would also produce Prove It, staking the bands claim as one of the genre's heavy hitters.

Three years after Prove It the band would start tracking at JingleTown Recording, a bay area studio owned by the members Green Day. The beautiful studio would be used for two recording sessions, one in 2013 and one in 2014 setting the stage for the bands new release.

On January 13, 2015 The Expendables dropped Sand In the Sky to a hungry fan base excited for the bands new album. Fans immediately responded, loving the new tracks and gravitating toward the hypnotic Starry Night, dance-friendly jam Music Move Me as well as Nothing I Wouldn't Do bringing a slight blend of the bands older sound back into the mix.

The Expendables enjoyed a laid-back lifestyle growing up in Santa Cruz, CA; surfing, skating, partying, and playing music were commonplace. Since 1997, The Expendables have staked their claim in the California surf/rock genre by headlining venues from coast to coast. Blending Reggae, Punk Rock, and 80s style dueling guitar solos, The Expendables have made heads turn and floors shake for years.
The band consists of four longtime friends: Geoff Weers (Guitar and Vocals), Adam Patterson (Drums and Vocals), Raul Bianchi (Lead Guitar) and Ryan DeMars (Bass). The first seven years of their career was fueled with three full-length, completely independent releases. No Time To Worry (2000), Open Container (2001), and Gettin’ Filthy (2004), would bring in a combined total of over 40,000 units sold with no physical distribution and no record label.

While touring and supporting their album, Gettin’ Filthy, The Expendables would share the stage with Slightly Stoopid and catch the attention of founders and front men Kyle McDonald and Miles Doughty. In 2007 Slightly Stoopid formed their own independent label, Stoopid Records, and signed The Expendables for the label’s first non-Stoopid release, which was The Expendables self-titled. Released in September 2007, the album would be accepted as an instant classic by fans and received rave reviews from critics.

The band continued supporting the album with hundreds of shows over the next two years, gaining fans around the world, and respect from the bands that influenced them. Early 2009 The Expendables toured relentlessly. Within a few short months, they hit the road with NOFX, Less Than Jake, Pennywise, and Pepper. In case that was not enough, The Expendables were honored to join 311 on their Summer Unity amphitheater tour, rocking huge stages, and opening new doors for the band.

The boys decided idle time was not an option after the conclusion of their tour with 311, so they went straight in to the studio to begin recording their next album, Prove It. Paul Leary (producer of Sublime, Slightly Stoopid, Pepper, Supersuckers, as well as guitar player for Butthole Surfers) and El Hefe (guitar player of NoFX) would split producing duties at Big Fish studios in Encinitas, California.
Prove It was released May 11th 2010 debuting at #158 on the Billboard Top 200, #30 on Billboard’s Independent charts, and #4 on Billboard’s Heatseekers! The album also pushed to #15 on iTunes Top 200 and #5 on iTunes Alternative Charts, jumping The Expendables to a new level in their career. The band’s new release would include guest performances by C-Money, OG, and Dela of Slightly Stoopid throughout the album. Jumping into the mix as well would be long time friend G. Love on the ballad “Wells”.

To support the release of Prove It, The Expendables continued their tenacious touring schedule with their popular yearly Winter Blackout Tour, a headlining Spring Tour, a slot supporting Slightly Stoopid and Steel Pulse on this summers, Cauzin’ Vapors tour and will be in Europe with The Mad Caddies during the fall. The band will close out the year with a national headlining run that will be sure to keep The Expendables strong hype building.

Thirteen years later, five albums down and countless miles covered The Expendables show no signs of slowing down.
Project 432
Project 432
Project 432...what does that even mean??? When you first hear the name, for a second it invokes images of Area 51 in the mind, or possibly some secret government experiments the C.I.A. is conducting on some poor souls turned lab rats.
Luckily for all of US, Project 432 has a much more benevolent mission that they intend to take worldwide. This Denver based band is creating a buzz and hitting the ground running already booking shows from Austin to L.A., bringing a brand new sound carrying an explosively dynamic range of grooves & vibrations.
Mixing a variation of styles, they draw you in with their steady soothing heartbeat created by their hip hop/funk sound and the rock drive behind their drummer/bass combination. They ground you with some fresh fatty dub as well as some funky grooves that'll get your entire body moving. The guitar and vocals will take you over with resounding elements in blues, hip hop, rock and soul music, screaming in moments, crying in others, and somehow carrying that happy, slinky, snapback skanky reggae flavor we love so much. With the keys bringing out beautiful bright tones, and in moments the spacy sounds that take us to celestial places as well as more subtle sub base and dub vibrations, the beauty of this cosmic creation is something unlike anything being done, and the fascinating part is the meaning of the very name.
Why 432??? Well, long story short, everything vibrates at a certain frequency range and 432hz is the perfect and actual range at which water, life, the earth as well as all elements are whole and centered and it is how we are all connected and aligned properly. Originally music was played and listened to at 432hz, and along the line it was changed to 440hz and caused our minds to come out of alignment, our vibrational frequency, our way of thinking, our pace and our natural rhythm in life altogether.
Project 432 tunes to 432hz as well as writes a message that tells a story of the hearts of the band members as well as the many stories that we all live out in this epic journey we walk out called life. They intend to impact the hearts of the masses literally healing people's minds and spirit by causing them to contemplate, consider, reconsider, and simply rock out and love the moment they are experiencing as they listen to the healing, grooving, and enchanting sounds that realign them with life.
