Fighting the Phoenix
Fighting the Phoenix
Fighting the Phoenix is not just a band, but a movement. Momentarily disregard the contagious physical movement on stage. And feel the words that have painted it’s way into their lyrical bay, that accompanies the incredible music that they create.
Behind the band’s heavy music and incredible performance, there is something more... Something as real as meeting anyone of the band members at any of their shows. There is belief in humanity, acceptance, and a compassionate display of love for those sharing space within the crowd. FTP’s intentional or unintentional efforts to be genuine, sincere, and yet impressive musicians... doesn’t sum up what they have concocted as a unit. They stand tall, they stand with us, and they’re brutal about it!

From their song “Atlantis”, which was written about a story based upon saving humanity. The original story of Atlantis portrayed a more physical description of what I experienced from viewing their most recent performance. Maybe Im seeing something that isn’t there, or maybe I’m seeing something that they just are and represent. FTP’s song “Atlantis” screams support, unity, and a warrior’s bravery to the ones torn and broken by the waves of the world. “Atlantis” is a great song, but Fighting the Phoenix is still making more incredible songs!
The band recently released a new single and music video, for a song called, “Stuck on the Sidelines”. This song was written with a purpose as well as the others, but also comes with a tangible presence of endearment. It pulls at the heart strings and binds the broken pieces at the same time. The song’s meaning, composition, and performance is pure fire!

Go check out Fighting the Phoenix music on all major streaming apps, but don’t stop there! These boys are a quality product to be experienced in person! New music and content is overdue for 2019, expect greater things from FTP soon!

This journey started when
Eric Lewis got together with Mike Thomas at the Iriduim and Hit The Shadows Cd Release show in the spring of 2016 Eric was itching to get back on guitar and convinced the amazing Bass player to jump on guitar as well , he gladly accepted the challenge, from there they had close friend Brandon Hinshaw (Cosmic Waste) come and play bass for writing purposes... Eventually They found their permanent bass player the phenom himself Tim Stewart. They went through a few auditions for a vocalist when finally hearing Shawn Lawson's Rasp put their search to an end. Tim Stewart Then called his good friend Chris Shurtleff to play drums.

Everyone has played in bands before from Denver to Oklahoma and Tacoma. From hard rock to country to Metal, Thrash, and Pop punk. Mike Thomas has played bass for Guilty as Charged, Animal Pitt, The Lonely Boys, The Mythical project, Fur Lane and Two Cities.
Eric Lewis is currently the drummer to Icarus Echoes but has played guitar for Flesh Engine, Last Of Dawn, Breaking The Cycle, Red Eye King, Malibu Driveby, and Hero Kid .
